What if it rains?

The festival is open rain or shine. Some performances or attractions may be cancelled, postponed or altered due to inclement weather or weather-related conditions. In the event of a weather emergency, to receive updates, join our safety notification system by following our Instagram page.

If an inclement weather emergency arises during the festival, please follow all prompts and directions from festival staff and emergency personnel. Depending on weather patterns, festival operations may be suspended, and patrons may be asked to shelter in place in their personal vehicle in the parking lot until weather conditions improve and the grounds are cleared to resume operations. If the festival is closed/canceled due to a weather emergency, any unscanned tickets may be reactivated for the next eligible festival day.

Can I exchange or transfer my ticket?

Advance purchased tickets and passes may be exchanged or transferred to a later festival date or alternate individual prior to the purchased event date and/or start of the festival.

Where do I park?

Parking for MEMREN is similar to most large events at Overton Park. There is limited onsite parking accessible from the Poplar Avenue Entrance, limited parking spots near the former Brooks Museum of Art, and very limited parking in the surrounding neighborhoods. We are providing dedicated events shuttles with parking at the Overton Park greenhouse lot for a ticketed fee, otherwise we encourage ride sharing, alternates to driving including Lyft and Uber, or parking in the surrounding area and being prepared to walk.

Do I have to dress up to attend?

We encourage costumes from the Renaissance era and fantasy realms, but regular clothing is also permitted. We must maintain an environment suitable for guests of all ages.

Shoes are required. We suggest comfortable shoes that do well in outdoor terrain and any weather. We reserve the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that is considered inappropriate or might distract from the experience of other guests.

Plague masks, face masks, and other full-face coverings will be asked to be removed as you enter the festival grounds.

Can I bring my pet or service animal?

No pets are allowed at MEMREN. Service animals that meet federal ADA guidelines are permitted. Unfortunately, emotional support animals do not enjoy the same rights. The ADA does not require that all animals be accommodated at all times. The ADA guidelines stipulate that the dog must be leashed or under strict verbal command, and under the owner’s control at all times. We ask that you do not leave animals on the park perimeter or inside your vehicle. In such cases, the appropriate authorities will be notified. Even if the dog is a service animal, we are not obliged to accommodate the animal if these guidelines are not met.

Please do not request to bring your service dog who is currently “in training”. Even with the best of intentions, a service dog in training is just that, in training. You risk harmful advancement and potential anxiety development having a dog in a very dusty and busy environment competing with thousands of feet moving right next to them. Please wait until they are fully vetted to provide their service.

Can I bring my own food or drinks?

We offer a variety of fresh, delicious food for our guests to enjoy at concession stands throughout MEMREN however, we understand that guests may need to bring outside food and drink into MEMREN for medical reasons. Please note the following guidelines for bringing food and drink into our park:

If a weapon is deemed non-compliant by the security team, you will be asked to return the weapon to your vehicle before you may enter MEMREN. The security team has the final say on what is ultimately allowable or not.
‍
Zip ties are available at the entrance gate. The investigation may include interviews with the individual making the charges, the accused individual and appropriate witnesses. All employees or contractors with information are required to participate in an investigation if asked to do so by the Festival.
